Your Ad on MySpace for $25? MyAds brings MySpace Marketing to the Masses

MySpace today officially launched MyAds, an advertising platform targeted toward individuals, blogs, musicians, small businesses, and anyone on a budget.  MyAds is an easy to use advertising platform that allows users to create customize banner ads aimed at segments within the MySpace community of over 122 million users worldwide.

“With MySpace MyAds, we’re blowing the lid off display advertising solutions for small and medium businesses,” said Jeff Berman, President of Sales and Marketing for MySpace. “MySpace MyAds is a direct marketer’s dream – providing entrepreneurs with the most accessible, personalized, and targeted advertising toolkit in the market.  We’re giving businesses better ROI ASAP and in today’s economy, that’s a must-have.”

Users can create ads using a simple process not unlike that of other online ad programs where one follows steps including; clicking a link to create or upload a custom advertisement, selecting the amount to spend on the ad (from $25 to $10,000), identifying target markets, and measuring the ad performance with built-in analytic tools.

A key component of MyAds is the MySpace HyperTargeting ad technology.  HyperTargeting enables advertisers to target specific groups within the MySpace community based on self-expressed interests available on user profiles. The technology allows any MySpace MyAds user access to targeting parameters such as age, gender, and location, all in combination with thousands of user interest categories including specific keywords within each category.

Early beta users are reporting success with the program,  “After spending $100 on MySpace MyAds to advertise, I got a roofing assignment valued at $30,000 all in a matter of eight days,” said Dan Davis, owner of D&D Installation, a Chicago roofing company.

“With MySpace MyAds, I can bring my message to an audience that I normally wouldn’t have access to nor even know where to find,” said Blayne Weaver, an independent filmmaker.  “I had previously used MySpace to promote my movie through a general film festival circuit.  Now that the film has a nationwide DVD release, it was great to be able to orchestrate my own advertising aimed at the exact audience I wanted to target – people who liked watching movies.”
