Wordle Offers New Way To Display Your Thoughs Online

Wordle is not a business app.  Described by its developer as a “toy,” Wordle allows users to generate word clouds from text.  That text can come from a document or a url that the user enters online.  Curious about what your friends are thinking?  Enter their del.ic.io.us user name and generate their word cloud.

The tool was developed by Jonathan Feinberg an engineer with an eclectic and impressive resume that includes his current job at IBM Research and former drummer for 90’s band, They Might Be Giants.

I entered the url for the other site I write for, dvorak.org and the site returned with this cloud.  Very representative since the other editors over at the site have been writing about the elections nearly nonstop.

Visit Wordle to create your own cloud or view the gallery of the latest entries.  I’d love to see a Facebook version of this application.

Thanks to Eishay at Wandering Around for the find.
