Graffitio for iPhone lets you put the writing on the wall
Graffitio is a unique reviews system / social network that allows users to record their off-hand impressions of a place on their iPhone. Think of it like writing on the bathroom wall, only without breaking the law.
What makes Graffitio a good alternative to more robust review sites, such as Yelp, is its quick input system and conversational style. Instead of lengthy reviews users post their impressions at the moment. For example, at a cafe someone might post, “Bathrooms were not clean today,” or “They’ve got someone new working.” I logged in last night and saw everything from information on the shopping conditions at my local market to a post saying that there was currently a fist-fight going on outside Dairy Queen.
Like many other iPhone apps, Graffitio takes advantage of geotagging. When you open the application it starts looking for bars, parks, cafes, stores and other places near you. You can read other reviews and add your own. If you don’t see a place listed you can add it.
Current Graffitio users will be pleased to know that the company has just added new features. According to a statement issued on the company’s blog, the features include:
* Create new walls with pinpoint precision using Google Maps
* See a wall’s location on a map with the new detail view
* Flag walls for review by the Graffitio team
* Delete your signed posts with a swipe of your finger
* Choose whether or not to show the Infinite Wall or unsigned posts
